When silence speaks

Whispers of the left unsaid
At once sour and droll
Now disturb both my head
And the innermost room of my soul.

A voice coming from below
Crying truths from which I had fled
On inquiries I more than once took to bed
But had long decided to let go.

“Ignore me if you can,” - it shouts at me
“But you and I are one, and I know you cannot.
Spare yourself the search for what you shall not find.”

“What doesn’t lie within - that, outside, you won’t ever see.
No eye, no ear, no hand could sense what you once sought
For your entire life happens inside your mind.”
